| Assessment: Preparing for Enrollment
The assessment does not affect your admission to Contra Costa College in any way. Its purpose is to help you enroll in courses most appropriate for you. All non-exempt students must complete the English and math assessment prior to enrolling in courses. Contra Costa College uses COMPASS, a computerized assessment for placement into English, reading, and math courses. The test is untimed and open to students who have submitted their application. It is approved for use as one measure from which to decide on course placement. COMPASS is available to take on a drop-in basis at the college Assessment Center in SSC-104.
